Dear Stephanie - Concert Band

"Dear Stephanie" is written in memory of Stephanie Read who died on Nov 7, 2013 for the Gateway High School (Monroeville, PA) Wind Ensemble, directed by Robert Read. 

“Mr. Leidhecker discussed with me that he would like to compose a piece in memory of Stephanie,” Mr. Read said. “We discussed many ideas, family traditions and musical concepts,” before he began working on the composition, he added.

One highlight of the piece, Mr. Read said, is that it includes piano, which he had requested.

“Our entire family plays the piano and there were many times when Stephanie would be with us in our family room listening to the piano,” Mr. Read recalled.
