10 Arias - Bass Voice and Piano
Price: $13.28
10 arias, some very well-known and some pretty obscure, for bass voice from Mozart's operas, arranged for voice and piano by Sergius Kagen.
The arias fromthe famous operas Die Zauberflote, La clemenza di Tito, Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, and Die entfuhrung aus dem Serail are classics of the bass repertoire. The arias from Zaide, on the other hand, have an interesting background. Zaide is an unfinished singspiel which Mozart abandoned to work on Idomeneo. It was discovered among Mozart's papers by Constanze Mozart, and received its first performance in 1866. It has since been reconstructed by several composers. The two arias included here are sung by two different characters, Osmin and Allazim.
Arias have their original German or Italian singing texts, plus poetic English singing texts printed below the original language. Line-by-line English translations also appear at the top of the aria.
