Aaron VanderWeele

Aaron VanderWeele is the Principal Euphonium and Euphonium Soloist of the New York Staff Band. He currently serves on the faculty of Mason Gross School of the Arts — Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey.

He is a Buffet Crampon Artist and performs exclusively on the Besson 2052 Prestige Euphonium.

Mr. VanderWeele is a Fellow of Trinity College London — where he received his FTCL and LTCL Diplomas in Euphonium Performance with distinction.

He was awarded 2007 International Euphonium Player of the Year — only the third American to receive this prestigious recognition. Aaron has over twenty recordings to his credit — four of which are solo recordings. He has performed solos in Royal Albert Hall (London), The Philips Arena (Atlanta) and his most memorable performance came with the New York Staff Band and rock legend Elton John at Carnegie Hall.

He is the proud father of two amazing sons – Evan and Matthew – and loves to mentor musicians in their pursuit of excellence, no matter their age or ability. .
