Méthode Complète de Trompette Moderne (Complete Method for Modern Trumpet) by Merri Franquin is a 335 page conservatory method with all of the weight and importance of the Arban’s or the St.Jacome, but is little known in North America. This French method book has been used by all of the great European soloists, like Maurice Andre and Guy Touvron, who have both written extensively on how to use the book to its full potential. Enesco dedicated his famous solo piece “Légende” to Franquin, and the solo part of “Légende” and many other famous french works are included in the later half of the book. This is the first time this book has been available as a digital edition, and for only a third of the price and none of the massive weight of a hard copy. The book is divided into two main parts. First is a theoretical part, then a practical part divided into 3 subsections. As a method, it covers every possible area of trumpet playing to an extent that I cannot fit it all in this description.
