J. N. Hummel, the important Mozart and Clementi student, influenced Chopin and a legion of romantic virtuosos not only with his piano concertos. Even in his piano school, which was established earlier, Hummel developed an infinite number of pianistic playing formulas, which then found their artistic conclusion in his etudes.
Together with the studies by Cramer and Czerny, they form an excellent transition to the romantic studies by Chopin, Liszt and Schumann.
