Perception Piece - Multi-percussion Duo

• Player 2 (Woodblocks (2) | Metal Pipes (2) | Cowbells (2) | Congas (2))

In Perception Piece a series of episodes with varying rhythmic cells are introduced, developed, staggered, juxtaposed or otherwise manipulated to create a schizophrenic “dance.” This dance cannot keep itself going for long; it winds up and breaks down over and over again. The rhythmic cells are all derived from prime numbers, which lead to unpredictable moments of both chaos and synchronicity.

A somewhat dry and quirky piece, it has been suggested by friends that it sounds like stop-motion animation, or a clock store where the clocks have gone mad.
