Description
As with all solo works for double bass of that era, this concerto is also based on the so-called "Viennese" tuning (A-D-F-sharp-A). The conditions of the fourth tuning of the double bass that is common today made an arrangement of the solo part indispensable: it consists of changes in some sequences of notes in double stops and arpeggios, and the second movement was also transposed for practical reasons.
