Shostakovich's Concertino, Opus 94 (originally for 2 pianos) has been brilliantly transcribed for ten-piece Brass Choir by Seattle Trumpeter, Geoffrey Bergler. This work is pure Shostakovich, very dramatic, sometimes tragic and other times sarcastic and is scored for Piccolo Trp., E-flat Trumpet, 2 B-flat Trumpets, 2 Horns, 3 Trombones and Tuba. The Concertino is very well-suited for advanced performers. This publication is the first edition of any Shostakovich work to be licensed by the Shostakovich family for Brass Ensemble.
