Gloria: A Festive Suite for Choir and Orchestra - Vocal Score

Mary McDonald’s compelling three-movement original work for choir and orchestra draws on ancient themes and Latin text to offer a soaring expression of praise to “God alone, the Author and Finisher of our faith.” The suite opens with a jubilant “Gloria in Excelsis Deo,” moves into the deeply expressive “Et in Terra Pax,” and culminates in the epic “Gloria Dei Patri (Glory to the Father).”

In addition to its original accompaniment for full orchestra, Gloria may also be presented with brass and percussion. A supplemental organ part is available which can be used with the full orchestration, brass and percussion, or alongside the piano accompaniment. Pronunciation guides, rehearsal tracks, and accompaniment recordings are also available to support preparation. At just under 12 minutes, this impactful work makes a powerful addition to Christmas worship—as a final statement following carols or a stirring conclusion to a traditional cantata.
