Pierre Max Dubois (1930-1995) was a teacher of musical analysis at the Paris Conservatory and a prolific composer, mostly of music for wind instruments.  He was trained at the conservatories of Tours and of Paris and won the Prix de Rome in 1953.  During his student years he won prizes in clarinet, harmony, and piano.

Quartet by Pierre Max Dubois is a piece for four Saxophones also known as Concertino, and was initially composed for four saxophones and a string orchestra. It is considered difficult as it requires strong endurance and a good technique.
