Performing on the hand horn remains a fascinating challenge with many horn players. The Joseph Schantl, ETUDES FOR THE NATURAL HORN, is the first step in achieving a mastery of hand horn playing. The ETUDES present a challenge in all forms of time signatures, tempos, phrasings, and articulation. The intent is to develop a full and round tonal sound on the open notes of the F horn.
